The origins of what we know as Chinese Medicine date back as far as 2500 years ago.  The first known scrolls recording the meridians, which form the basis of acupuncture, date back to the 5th century B.C.  Likewise, the Chinese knowledge of herbal medicine is thousands of years old.  This incredible wealth of knowledge and experience is invaluable in treating complex cases, offering perspectives which do not rely on accurate “western diagnoses” in order to effectively treat the patient. It becomes a matter of removing blockages in the meridians, restoring balance between the different elements and organs attempting to peacefully coexist in each human body.

From a Chinese medicine perspective, any symptom in the body, mind or spirit is an indication of a blockage or imbalance.  Healing is achieved by restoring the proper flow of energy in the meridians using acupuncture and herbal medicine, either separately or in conjunction.

Dr Miki has a masters degree in Oriental medicine as well as being a licensed acupuncturist.  She uses this knowledge in conjunction with her naturopathic and shamanic work in order to assist her patients in restoring both physical and emotional balance and well-being.  She finds that the combination allows for deep healing that allows patients to frequently report feeling peaceful, grounded and energized as they emerge from their sessions.
